About KIPP ENC
In 2001, KIPP Gaston College Preparatory middle school opened its doors on 27 acres of peanut and soybean fields in Northampton County, North Carolina. The founding staff and school leaders promised that first class of fifth grade students that they would be prepared for and accepted to the college or university of their choice by the time they graduated from high school. Not only did 100% of that founding class earn admission to the colleges of their choice, but that tradition has continued with every senior class earning that distinction for the past ten years. Our alumni continue to prove what is possible by graduating from college at five times the national rate for students from low-income communities. And, our six schools in Gaston, Halifax, and Durham continue to raise expectations for public education, educating over 2,000 students. Please join us on Friday, May 3rd at 12:00pm EST as each member of KIPP Gaston College Prep Pride High School’s senior class unveils the college of his or her choice.
